Multiple-scale Analysis of Impact Fracture

چکیده
We present a multiple-scale approach for the analysis of tensile failure of concrete under impact loading. A phenomenological rate dependent constitutive model is applied at the macroscopic level. Viscosity terms are included to represent the strengthening effect associated with the microstructural moisture and inertial effects of micro-cracking. A partial length scale effect is extracted from mesoscopic analyses and linked to the viscosity terms in the macroscopic model. The kinetic law in the macroscopic and mesoscopic models controlling the strength increase is linked to physical processes at a microscopic level. Experimental results using the Split Hopkinson Bar test are reproduced with the multiple-scale model.

Mixed Mode Fracture Analysis of Multiple Interface Cracks
This paper contains a theoretical formulation of multiple interface cracks in two bonded dissimilar half planes subjected to in-plane traction. The distributed dislocation technique is used to construct integral equations for a dissimilar mediums weakened by several interface cracks. These equations are of Cauchy singular type at the location of dislocation, which are solved numerically to obta...
متن کاملFracture Dynamic Propagation Model of High-Energy Gas Fracturing for Casing Perforated Well
The onshore oil and natural gas industries of China have started a large-scale development when crude oil reserves have been difficult to recover. The stratum fracture modification is an indispensable measure to efficiently develop oil and gas fields. Hydraulic fracturing is the most important reservoir stimulation technique, but it is still faced with various problems such as the failure to fr...
متن کاملFracture Analysis of a FGM Strip Containing Multiple Interface Cracks Sandwiched between Two Homogeneous Layers
A FGM layer sandwiched between two isotropic layers weakened by several interface cracks under antiplane loading is studied. This paper examines the modelling of cracks by distribution of strain nuclei along crack lines. In this investigation, the Volterra-type screw dislocation employed between FGM and an elastic layer. To solve the dislocation problem, the complex Fourier transform is applied...

متن کاملMULTI FRACTURE/DELAMINATION ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITES SUBJECTED TO IMPACT LOADINGS
A combined finite/ discrete element method is presented for modelling of composite specimens subjected to dynamic/impact loadings. The main task is set on developing an algorithm for simulation of potential bonding and debonding/delamination phenomena during impact or general dynamic loading conditions. In addition, full fracture analysis can also be performed. The proposed approach adopts a ge...
